CenturyTel DSL

I've been having connectivity issues on and off all day...mostly off. Is it just me or are any of you C-tel customers having the same? I'm trying to figure out if it's internal before I go pester customer support.

Not sure. I have charter high speed. The internet is fine but the tv skips small parts during tv shows. I don't know if its a dvr problem or what.

Generally with C-tel internet when connectivity issues occur it is due the router establishing a new ip address, which happens frequently. C-tel internet is on a dedicated line, which means that the bandwidth is being sent directly to your home from the very source, which is the c-tel headquarters or nearest hub.

Charter on the other hand is provided through a pole connection which works like a city sewer line, everyone shares in off the same supply. So disruptions in internet or tv is probably due to an excessive usage in your immediate area or even damage to a line or pole in your neighborhood.

Most people agree that c-tel provides a better service as their technology is more advanced (fiber lines, digital services), whereas charter being the dinosaur it is, simply rides their reign from when they had no immediate competition.

If you want anymore info on this let me know! I'll be glad to help.
