End of the World... again

Continuing my trip back in time to the start of the new Doctor Who, I just watched End of the World. I loved this episode when it first aired and loved it just as much this time. This should have been the first one. There's action, aliens, character building. It gets off to a great start and just keeps going.

The deaths bothered me. Which is good because it means the show made me care about the characters. I think I teared up a little when the blue plumber died the first time. This time I knew it was going to happen but it still got to me. And Jade, burning up like that to save the others. Definite tear jerking moment. Cassandra... Well, that was mostly just gross. I think knowing she's not really dead mitigates any emotion there, too.

Fun seeing the Face of Boe for the "first" time, knowing who he turns out to be. And I noticed Bad Wolf mentioned. I missed that the first time around. I'll have to keep watch for more of that now that I realize they were foreshadowing that far back. (Yeah, those of you that read the Who sites probably know all the spots but I'm so paranoid about spoilers I don't go there. :P )

All in all it was a great ep the second time around. Next week is an ep I found so so the first time. Let's see if I like it any better on a second viewing.

The BBC repeats? I just watched the one where Rose is left on the alternte dimension earth w/ the Doctor calls her to that lake named Bad Wolf lake or such... funny I turned the channel after to one of the Starz movie ones and they were advertising a new show on HBO (I think) w/ Rose as a porn star (whatever her real name is) I don't get the channel which is ok ... just thought it weird timing. Bad career choice I would think.

No, I've got them all on DVD and am watching one per week from that. I still need to write up the last one. That is really weird timing. I haven't kept up with what she's been doing since leaving the show. It's too bad. I know a lot of people didn't like her but I've found her to be the best one so far of the new series.

Can you believe I've never watched one single "Doctor Who" episode? My brother in law il is a nut about them and my Hubby doesn't like it at all.... never heard about it until I met my hubby. One of these days I have to watch one.

Never watched Doctor Who? You poor, deprived thing. Laugh You definitely need to watch one. Two, actually. You'll want to start with Rose just to start at the begining of the new series but, honestly, I didn't think Rose (the episode, not the character) was that great. The End of the World is much better. So watch the first two at least and then you'll want to watch the rest. Wink And if you like scary, watch Blink. That is a really stand alone one that you can really watch at any time.

Her name is Billie Piper and it's a series called the Secret Diary of a Callgirl. I might have to check that out. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0684877/
